Michigan Journal of Community Service Learning

Since 1994, the Michigan Journal of Community Service Learning (MJCSL) has been the premiere peer-reviewed journal publishing articles written by faculty and service-learning educators on research, theory, pedagogy, and other issues related to academic (curriculum-based) service-learning in higher education. To keep up with the expansion in the civic engagement field, beginning with volume 15 the MJCSL will expand its purview to include articles focused on:

  • University-community partnerships
  • Engaged/public scholarship (work which involves and benefits a community AND advances a faculty member's scholarship or creative work)
  • Academic (curriculum-based) service-learning

COUNCIL FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF STANDARDS IN HIGHER EDUCATION (CAS)

The Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS) has been the pre-eminent force for promoting standards in student affairs, student services, and student development programs since its inception in 1979. For the ultimate purpose of fostering and enhancing student learning, development, and achievement and in general to promote good citizenship, CAS continues to create and deliver a dynamic and credible Book of Professional Standards and Guidelines and Self-Assessment Guides that are designed to lead to a host of quality-controlled programs and services. National Youth Leadership Council (United States)

For more than 25 years, NYLC has led a movement that links youth, educators, and communities to redefine the roles of young people in society. Higher Education Quality Committee (HEQC) - The Council on Higher Education (South Africa)

The South African Council on Higher Education (CHE) is an independent statutory body responsible for advising the Minister of Education on all matters related to higher education policy issues, and for quality assurance in higher education and training. CHE has one permanent committee, the Higher Education Quality Committee (HEQC). The CHE's statutory responsibility for the promotion and assurance of quality in higher education is carried out by the HEQC. http://www.che.ac.za/
