Community Service-Learning in Canada

Go on a virtual tour of both new and more established community service-learning (CSL) programs at colleges and universities in Canada. On the pages linked below, there are both curricular and co-curricular examples of CSL in action. You will notice that different campuses may use various terms when referring to their programs and courses integrating service and learning; refer to the page of this site with information on defintions and terms.

Check this page often to discover new additions! If your institution has developed a CSL website, please contact us to highlight your program here.

READING WEEK CSL PROGRAMS

We have organized CSL programs into five geographical regions within Canada and with Regional Contact Persons listed in each. Visit these pages to discover your regional CSL colleagues. In January 2005, the J.W. McConnell Family Foundation launched the National University-Based Community Service-Learning Program, providing CSL funding to ten Canadian institutions and their local communities. Explore this page to learn about this unique network of CSL programs. A CSL tradition has developed in our country over the past five years; cross-Canada campus exchanges to participate in CSL projects together during the annual winter Reading Week. Some 2007 programs are highlighted here.
