exploring co-curricular CSL reading week programs

audio recording

The PROMISING PRACTICES Tele-learning Series welcomed Emily Reed from the University of Guelph to discuss programming ideas, challenges, and related issues with co-curricular CSL reading week programs.  Listen to the podcast to learn more about planning a Reading Week program or to gather more information!

Emily Reed is the Coordinator of Citizenship and Community Engagement at the University of Guelph.  Their Reading Week program, Project Serve Canada, enables students from the University of Guelph to connect with students from other Canadian and American universities and communities. Together, these students serve in collaboratively designed four or five day volunteer placements in one or more national communities. Integrated within these immersion service experiences are a variety of learning opportunities. Education and reflection components are implemented to raise awareness in the students on critical social issues and to encourage the development of a lifelong sense of responsible national citizenship in these young adults.
